Cisco invests in Outlook search start-up Xobni

Cisco has invested in Xobni, the start-up that makes an Outlook plug-in and was once rumored to be acquired by Microsoft. Cisco's investment is part of a $7 million B Round funding by Cisco and Xobni's existing investors. Blogger Om Malik notes that Cisco's investment " is part of its continuing tussle against Microsoft over the concept of collaboration." and follows its acquisition of presence and messaging software provider Jabber in September, and e-mail and calendaring software maker PostPath in August.

Tool Review: Maltego by Jimmy Ray Purser

Have you ever watched a movie that you thought was fall down hilarious when you wore a younger person's clothes, now? I watched Hollywood Knights last night and man when I first saw that movie I laughed so darn hard I could hardly hear the dialog. I set my wife up for how funny this movie was... but we didn't laugh as much. She hardly did at all. Although it was still funny and much better then, The Muppets Christmas, it was kinda dated humor. Sometimes I wonder if we passed the golden era...

Did I Pass the CCDE? by Michael Morris

I don't know! People started e-mailing me on December 26th saying results arrived in the postal mail. It seems everyone got a big piece of coal in their Cisco stocking for Christmas. No one said they passed, which I had put a $1 bet on in July. Too bad I was out of town on the 26th. So, I had to wait till I got home on the 30th to check. But, to my chagrin, nothing in the mail. So, I looked on Cisco's Certification Tracking System, the one with the old CSCO IDs. Nothing there... 1
